Phi Sigma Phi was not created to follow the ordinary path.

Founded on July 30, 1988, in South Bend, Indiana, Phi Sigma Phi began when a group of alumni and undergraduate men chose independence, self-determination, and a new future for their brotherhood. Rather than simply accept the direction of a merger, they made the bold decision to build something of their own; a national fraternity rooted in principle, loyalty, and freedom of choice.

From the beginning, Phi Sigma Phi has stood for men willing to be different. Our fraternity was founded on the principles of Honor, Justice, and Wisdom, and we continue to be guided by the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Our symbol, the Phoenix, reflects who we are — resilient, bold, and always rising toward something greater. Phi Sigma Phi is for men who want more from college than simply showing up. It is for those who want to lead, serve, grow, and build friendships that last far beyond graduation.

Today, Phi Sigma Phi continues that founding spirit by developing leaders of character through scholarship, service, brotherhood, and national involvement. We are not just preserving tradition, we are building the next generation of it.
